Welcome to Kereru Creek
Kereru Creek is a small plot of loveliness in Tataraimaka, Coastal Taranaki. We grow lots of our own food organically, using permaculture principles. We have 3.5acres of native bush with a freshwater creek, food forest, extensive veg patch, herb & tea gardens, a formal garden and a whole heap of rewilding projects throughout our property. We have bees and chickens, ever-growing kids and a very silly dog.
We grow goodness, on the soil, in the soil, for the earth and for ourselves. We would like to inspire others to do the same. To start where you are, live a smaller footprint, grow a garden, feed yourselves, your community and your soul.

Comfrey is known for its vigorous growth, deep roots, and various uses in gardens and for medicinal purposes. It's a valuable plant in food forests and organic gardens due to its nutrient-rich leaves and ability to accumulate nutrients in the soil. This is a clumping variety that will benefit your garden but not take it over.
9cm pot
Great ground cover in the food forest, shade tolerant through to full sun. Small red strawberries, tasty and delicious as long as you get to them before the birds ;)
